Renowned Chinese violinist Gao Can will conduct a masterclass for emerging young violin soloists on Thursday, March 21, 2013 from 2:30 to 5:00PM at the MKP Multi-Purpose Hall, 4th floor of the Cultural Center of the Philippines. This will be followed by a short talk addressed to the masterclass participants.
Recognized as one of China’s most versatile young violin soloists, Gao Can was the Grand Prize winner of 2006 China’s National Violin Competition. He received the special Recognition Award by Michael Hill at the International Violin Competition in 2007, the Second prize and the Special Award winner of 2008 Naples “Alberto Curci” International Violin Competition, and was granted the Highest Violin Award of 2009 Ima Hogg International Young Artist’s Competition.
Gao Can will be the soloist of the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra for its 7th season concert on Friday, March 22, 2013 where he will perform Saint-Saens Violin Concerto No. 3 in B minor, Op. 61.
