The RCMW Gift of Life Program Grants Filipino kids with CHD A New Lease on life

SAM_5873The Rotary Club of Makati West (RCMW) Gift of Life (GOL) Program with the U.S.-based Gift of Life International held its first ever pediatric cardiac medical mission to the Philippines the week of April 22, 2013 at the Philippine Children’s Medical Center in Quezon City.

Dr. Karl Reyes, a pediatric cardiac surgeon and director of the Rotary Club of Makati West, lead the surgical team working together with members of the 16-member mission from Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina, U.S.A. led by Dr. Andrew Lodge. The RCMW, to which Dr. Reyes belongs, has been conducting its own Gift of Life Program in the Philippines since 2004 and has helped saved the lives of 261 children so far.
