Southeast Asia’s leading travel and lifestyle channel brought back the TLC Festival to the Philippines last November 5 with an exciting Global Village. Festival-goers were able to globetrot across the world at Bonifacio High Street, enjoy good food, and great
entertainment . And they had the chance to rub shoulders with TLC perso nalities – bubbly travel host Janet Hsieh from Fun Taiwan, the charming Dan Churchill and Hayden Quinn from Surfing The Menu: Next Generation and America’s all-time favourite baker… ‘Cake Boss’ Buddy Valastro!
New gourmet and craft skills were learned at the TLC Kitchen, Japan’s Origami Workshops and Japanese Calligraphy studio. There was an art jam at the TLC Gallery, singing on the spot at Japan’s Karaoke Booth and savoring our very own Filipino food fair and Larong Pinoy. Immerse in the hustle and bustle New York’s Times Square, and grab a bite from the USA Food Trucks. Filipino band Apartel of rock icon Ely Buendia was the entertainment on the main stage. Cooking demos, talent appearances and stage games were led by comedian and host, Eri Neeman.
It was Cake Boss Buddy Valastro’s very first time in the Philippines and did he get a grand welcome from his Filipino fans. No less than a mob of eager fans crowded him as he walked from the hotel to the venue shouting his name. Episodes of the latest season of Cake Boss premiered November 9, Wednesday, 8:05 p.m. on TLC.
Coming back to the Philippines for the second time was Fun Taiwan’s bubbly host Janet Hsieh, who was all game when the host challenged her with a child’s game of chinese garter. She shares her latest travel escapades from Fun Taiwan Adventures every Saturday at 10:50pm till November 5. Surfer chefs Dan Churchill and Hayden Quinn of Surfing the Menu: Next Generation demonstrated a couple of recipes for beach-perfect meals for the crowd. New episodes of Surfing the Menu: Next Generation began on November 7, Monday, at 9:00 p.m.
